Welcome to

Leeds Castle, described as the “loveliest castle in the world” is about 30 minutes drive. As well as the interior and the gardens to explore, there are often concerts and other special events throughout the year.

The village of Biddenden, which is half a mile along the lane from the house, is famous for the Chaulkhurst Twins, the “Biddenden Maids” Siamese twins who died in 1100 AD. There is a pub in the village, The Red Lion, and two restaurants (one of which has a Michelin Star).

The village of Sissinghurst is approx. 3 miles away, home to the famous Sissinghurst Castle, where Vita Sackville West and her husband Harrold Nicholson created a fabulous garden, now owned by the National Trust.

The charming market town of Tenterden, with its antique shops, bars and restaurants is only 5 miles away.

The wealden market town of Cranbrook is approx. 5 miles away, once a centre of the medieval wool trade. “Cranbrook Cloth” was famous in its day.
